Acrylic on 300g archival paper (30x42cm)
Achieving likeness is a crucial part of portraiture. However, this focus cannot overwhelm expressive mark-making and allowing the paint to form its own narrative. In order to achieve a balance of these two important components, my aim with each portrait painting is to establish likeness with less than 10 broad brushstrokes - identifying and documenting the large shapes of light and shade.
Archival and MDF prints also available.
